How it works:
The basic operation of a centrifugal exhaust fan involves capturing air at the inlet, which is then accelerated radially outward from the centrifugal rotor. This creates a centrifugal pressure that forces the air to follow a spiral path through the rotor and be expelled in a tangential direction. The kinetic energy of the rotor is transferred to the air, generating a directed flow. These fans are versatile and can be used in a variety of industrial applications, including ventilation, gas exhaust and refrigeration systems.
Types of Centrifugal Exhaust Fans:
Radial Flow Fans (or radial type): Airflow enters tangentially and is directed away from the rotor. These fans are effective in applications that require high pressure, such as exhaust systems.
Diagonal Flow Fans: A combination of radial and axial flow, offering good efficiency and pressure. They are common in ventilation and exhaust systems.
Backward Inclined Axial Flow Fans: Air enters axially and is directed outward at a backward inclined angle. These fans are effective for medium pressure and moderate air volume applications.
Forward Inclined Axial Flow Fans: Similar to backward inclined ones, but the air is directed forward. They are suitable for applications that require greater air volume at moderate pressures.
Centrifugal Fans with Backwards Curved Blades: They have backwards curved blades, providing high efficiency in terms of air volume and pressure. They are used in industrial ventilation systems.
Centrifugal Fans with Forward Curved Blades: The blades are curved forward, providing a balance between air volume and pressure. They are suitable for exhaust and ventilation systems.
Radial Vane Centrifugal Fans: They have straight blades that extend radially from the hub, being effective in applications that require moderate pressure.
Centrifugal Fans with Backward Inclined Vanes: The blades are inclined backwards, providing greater efficiency in terms of pressure.
