The basket centrifuges are equipment provided with a basket, perforated or not, which when rotated causes the particles to be separated to be thrown to their periphery. On average, they are used when the particle size to be separated ranges from 10 to 10 thousand micrometers, with percent solids for separation ranging from 10% to 60% with a drying content of 85% to 95%.

According to the application, the baskets can be installed in vertical or horizontal axes and be loaded by automatic or manual processes.

Loading can also be done with the machine stopped or moving, depending on the case.

When, for example, the solids content is very high, which impairs the fluidity of the mixture, loading is done with the basket stopped.

When it is possible to carry it in motion, of course, there is a great gain in productivity, since the mixture is being centrifuged from the moment the feeding process starts.

Basket centrifuges can be used in the most variable operations, such as drying the cutting chips and recovering the cutting oil, drying chemical and pharmaceutical products or the drying actions present in the production of crystal sugar.
